Skoda New Cars in India

Skoda began its Indian operations at the turn of the century, as a relative unknown. The Octavia was the first model offered for sale, and was available with both petrol and diesel engines. The Octavia had no competition to speak of, and quickly came to recognised as the best car in the entry luxury segment. Today, Skoda's Indian range has expanded to include the Laura, which essentially replaced the erstwhile Octavia, the Fabia hatchback, Yeti compact SUV and Superb sedan. Skoda has also recently introduced the Rapid sedan, based on the VW Vento. Skoda produces it cars at two locations: in Aurangabad and Talegaon, near Pune.

Bought a powder blue Skoda Laura TDI 4 years ago after trading in my Hyundai Accent. Wow that was a fantastic leg up. Took a bit getting used to the beast. But it was fun. You feel powerful not only because of the powerful engine but also because of the solidness of the vehicle. Little or no maintenance required other than the fact that defrosting the windscreen was and remains an issue.

i neglected to even take a test drive of this car because i felt it is not worth it......but once i had a test drive , i have to say this fabia is a next alternative to a battle tank on road, the sound it gives while closing the door itself gives the feeling of closing the bunker door, anyway coming to the car, this has an amazing loads of space inside, believe me it has more space than many sedans , even the head rooms is very good, the handling and steering feel is excellent, but the only issue on this car is 1.2 diesel engine ,it is ok but you will feel could a bit lagging initially, but once you reach 2000-2500 rpm there will be sudden kick of power from the turbo, the top speed of the car is 160kmph, i only tried upto 150kmph, coming to suspension and handling - this is absolutely amazing , you can push the car in any angle at what ever speed you like ....you can play with it like sony playstation,.skoda is giving 4 years warranty on its cars, it also gives 4 years warranty on its paint, and also 4 years of free road side assistance anywhere in india, so i expect skoda is improving in after sales and services

this is my second skoda car after fabia, well the skoda has the strength of battle tanks and there is no need to discuss about its safety or build quality........all skoda cars are overweight, what i personally like in this laura L&K is the dsg automatic gear boxx with twin clutch, we actually dont feel the gearchange because of twin clutch, and 6 airbags provide safety, the boot opens as a hatchback which is huge advantage to load big suitcases to airports ...etc, the airconditioning is also fine with auto climate and dual temperature settings, the L&K varient also comes with sunroof and xenon haedlights......so it feels upmarket to the rivals, the fuel efficiency which i get in this car is 19kmpl which is shocking for an automatic gear car,

A WELL PRICED CAR FROM SKODA. THE DIESEL ENGINE HAS ALMOST NO TURBO LAG WHICH MAKES IT A BLAST TO DRIVE. THE SLIGHTLY STIFF RIDE MAKES IT VERY STABLE AT HIGH SPEEDS THOUGH THIS COMPROMISES RIDE QUALITY ON BAD ROADS. INTERIORS ARE NICE AND FUNCTIONAL. GEARBOX AND BRAKES ARE PRECISE AND CONFIDENCE INSPIREING. STEERING IS LIGHT AT LOW SPEED AND GIVES GOOD FEEDBACK AT HIGHER SPEEDS. CABIN IS ROOMY. FUEL EFFICENCY IS ALSO AMOUNG THE BEST.

The Skoda Rapid is basically a rebadged Volkswagen Vento with an identical platform, external dimensions and several other features. Skoda has put in considerable work into the car, gave it minor tweaks here and there and created a good overall product. The Skoda Rapid is an elegant looking car with spacious interiors, impressive handling and ride quality and is fuel efficient as well. Currently, the best cars in the C segment.
