BMW X1 New Car OverviewThe new BMW X1 began to be sold in India in 2011. Asembled at BMW's Chennai facility, the X1 was initially offered with both petrol and diesel engines, but for the facelift, launched recently, the company has dropped the petrol option altogether. Also, it continues to offer rear-wheel drive only, and BMW India feels that there is no real demand for a 4x4 version of the X1 in our market. There is now a single engine option - the 2.0-litre diesel, but it now comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. |
