Mahindra XUV 500 New Car OverviewThe Mahindra XUV 500 was launched to a rapturous reception in the Indian market. The XUV 500 redefined Mahindra's utility vehicle offerings, being the first SUV from Mahindra to feature monocoque construction and front wheel drive, with the engine mounted transversely. The design of the XUV 500, while appearing overdone, has caught the fancy of Indian SUV buyers. With three variants on offer, including one with four-wheel drive, the Mahindra XUV 500 has fast become one of the strongest selling vehicles in the utility vehicle segment. It sits above the Scorpio in Mahindra's product range, and has been positioned at the premium end of the SUV market, but the XUV 500 still comfortably undercuts the Maruti Suzuki Vitara and the Mitsubishi Outlander. |
