Mitsubishi has launched the 2012 Cedia priced at Rs 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It now comes with a portable seven-inch Mapmyindia android-based 3G tablet with in-built maps and a real-time navigation system. Also, the audio system now comes with Bluetooth/USB connectivity. A rear-view camera, with the video output on the audio system’s screen, is also on offer.
No changes have been made to the mechanicals. It retains the 115 PS 2.0-litre petrol engine. Interior updates include a three-spoke black leather-wrapped steering wheel, oyster leather seat covers and beige floor mats. The 2012 Cedia comes with 12-spoke alloy wheels, halogen headlamps and a horizontal-slat matte-black grille.
Keyless entry is standard while all windows are power operated and so are the ORVMs. A while ago, Hindustan Motors had slashed prices of the fully loaded Cedia sedan to Rs 7.99 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, making the petrol sedan a superb value for money car. The additional features that the Cedia gets thus make it more expensive by Rs 90,000.
An impressive feature of the Cedia is its driving dynamics and handling, which is something that driving enthusiasts will love. The zippy pick up of 2-litre petrol engine is one of its kind in the C-segment sedan class. This engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox.
Though the car represents good value for money at the latest prices, however, the Cedia doesn’t have a diesel engine in its variant line up, therefore making the car a complete no-no for those wanting a diesel sedan. All said and done, if you’re a petrol head with minimal monthly running, looking for a very involving car at an attractive price tag, the Mitsubishi Cedia will surely fit your bill.
