The baby up! fended off stiff competition from the new BMW 3 Series and the latest iteration of the Porsche 911 to win this coveted award. The World Car of The Year Awards are adjudged by a jury of 64 automotive journalists from 25 countries.

Volkswagen Up scores five stars in crash tests

The new Volkswagen Up, which will be shown to show goers at the upcoming Auto Expo, has scored a full five stars in crash tests carried out by the European new Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). The five star rating is also valid for Skoda's version of the new small car, called the Citigo.
