Sandeep Kumar’s first race in Scirocco R-Cup 2013 turned out to be a set of tough circumstances forcing the Indian lad to settle 12th in Junior category and 19th overall. Though disappointed, Sandeep considered this experience as an excellent platform to learn a world-class race track, understand the challenges of varying weather and importance of formulating strategies for racing against some of the best drivers.

Jari Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila finished qualifying for the Rally Argentina in first place in their Volkswagen Polo R WRC. The Finnish duo secured the best time by a whisker, coming in just three hundredths of a second faster than Sebastian Loeb and their team-mates Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia.

The Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup enters its fourth season at the Hockenheim ring on May 3. Nineteen young racing drivers from ten countries will be joined on the starting grid by four motorsport legends at the wheel of the 285-hp Scirocco. Lining up in Hockenheim are former DTM champions Nicola Larini and Eric van de Poele, as well as former Formula One drivers Jan Lammers and Martin Donnelly.
