Following the launch of the marque in the Philippines on October 16, 2012, Eurobrand Distributors Inc (EDI), the Peugeot importer in the archipelago, is keeping to its commitments with the opening on February 27, 2013 of the first two dealers in the country, Peugeot Las Pinas and Cagayan de Oro. EDI will build a network of 12 selling dealers in 2013.

Peugeot has taken the wraps off the new 208 GTi, the spiritual successor to the 205 GTi hot hatch, ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show later in September. The 208 GTi gets a 200 PS 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox.

French car maker Peugeot has decided to withdraw from endurance racing for the time being. Peugeot had been racing in the Le Mans Series, including the blue ribbon 24 Hours of Le Mans for the past few seasons, with its diesel powered 908 HDi FAP prototype sportscar.
