In a major move to expand its India focus, the BMW Group has amplified its investment in BMW Financial Services India to a whopping INR 5.3 billion (US $ 106 million) in 2012 from INR 2.3 billion (US $ 50 million) in 2010.

BMW is recalling 1.3 million 5 Series and 6 Series cars fix an electrical fault, which could lead to fire. This is pertaining to cars produced between 2003 and 2010. However, there are no issues with any of the current generation of 5 and 6 Series cars.

BMW Group and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) have announced that they have signed an agreement on collaborative research in the field of next-generation lithium-ion battery cells. This follows an agreement signed last December whereby BMW would supply Toyota with diesel engines.

The BMW Group has opened the world’s largest showroom for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and BMW motorcycles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The 35,000 sq mt showroom will employ 450 people, and display up to 70 vehicles at a time.
