201202 Jul

Continuing its success story during hard times, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has recorded a growth of 22 percent in June 2012. The company delivered 14,700 cars last month as compared to 12,034 units in the same month last year.
Etios, the luxury car exclusively for the Indian car market touched 6,155 units in sales volume last month, a growth of seven percent when compared with that of the corresponding month last year when it sold 5739 units. However the real show stopper in the TKM fleet was Innova. It recorded a grand performance of 45 percent growth, comparing the sales figures of June, 2012 with that of the same month last year. Last month 6,785 units were sold as compared to 4,665 sold Innova units sold in June, 2011. The diesel-powered Fortuner has addressed the growing demand for fuel-efficient cars. Naturally, it has witnessed a handsome growth of 26 percent while Year-on-Year sales figure is taken into account as of June, 2012. Comparing its last month’s sales performance with that of the same month last year, the total sold units stand at 1,249 units and 990 units respectively. Corolla Altis range delivered 505 units last month.
Commenting on the performance and market situation, Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said: “We have registered a growth this month based on strength of Etios, Innova and Fortuner sales. The Corolla Altis segment continues to be sluggish. We are relieved by the recent pull back of the fuel price; however we don’t see the market sentiments improving considerably with the other factors at play.”
