Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered a 6.4 per cent growth in their aggregate sales for July 2012. They sold 52,845 units in this year in July as compared to 49,666 units in the same month last year. Their domestic sales stood at 27,585 units as compared to 25,642 units in July 2011, recording a growth of 7.6 per cent. Hyundai’s exports were also up by 5.1 per cent. They exported 25,260 units in July 2012. The export figures of the same month last year were 24,024 units.

 

Commenting on the sales in the month of July, Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President, National Sales, HMIL said: “The overall market demand is suppressed due to general inflationary trend, high fuel prices and interest rates. Unless any major triggers get activated, market sentiment is not expected to improve very much.”

 

The segment-wise cumulative sales for July 2012 are:

A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10, i20) - 44,274 units

A3 segment (Accent and Verna) - 8,454 units

A5 segment (Sonata) - 32 units

SUV segment (Santa Fe) - 85 units
