After a week-long nail biting competition, Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarhs Gurmeet Virdi and co-driver Kirpal Singh Tung have won the Force Gurkha RFC India 2016 with a total score of 2177 points out of 2700.
Merwyn Lim (co-driver Hamizan Bin Abdul Hamid) of Force Motors, who was at the second position so far, has snatched the top slot from Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarhs Gurmeet Virdi (co-driver Kirpal Singh Tung) in the Terminator leg of the competition. Merwyns score after the completion of Special Stages 19-24 is 1937 out of 2400 while Gurmeet Virdi is at 1897 points.
Despite an extremely tough day filled with several hardships including a steering failure during the Terminator Special Stages (SS13-18), Gurmeet Virdi (co-driver Kirpal Singh Tung) of Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarh managed to retain the top spot at Force Gurkha RFC India 2016 with a total score of 1472 points out of 1800.
In an exciting turn of events, Gurmeet Virdi (co-driver Kirpal Singh Tung) of Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarh climbed up the ranks and took the lead on the second day of Force Gurkha RFC India 2016 with a total score of 987 out of 1200. Gurmeet, who was at the third position after Day 1 of the event, performed extremely well in Prologue Special Stages (SS) 7-12 with 90 points in three of the Stages.
RFC India defending champion Tan Eng Joo (co-driver Tan Choon Hong) of Force Motors was at the top with 534 points out of a total score of 600. Fellow Malaysian and Force Motors driver Merwyn Lim (co-driver Hamizan Bin Abdul Hamid) had 505 points in the kitty which included a perfect 100 in two of the SS.
Jagat Nanjapa, a veteran rallyist and an off-roading expert who has won nine Indian National Rally Riders Championships in the past, has bagged the winner trophy at the inaugural Force Gurkha RFC South India.
