For India, the X3 is available with a choice of two different engine variants, which include a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel and a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel. Both variants have all-time four wheel drive and both come with an 8-speed gearbox as standard.
The variant we’ve driven here is the BMW X3 xDrive30d, which has the 3.0-litre engine.

BMW has unveiled the third generation X5 SUV. The new X5 is slightly bigger, but greener into the bargain. BMW will uniquely offer a rear-wheel drive only version as well. The new X5 will be assembled from CKD kits at BMW India's Chennai facility.

BMW To Launch Refreshed 7 Series In India on April 25
The company has announced that the present sixth generation 7 Series will soon be replaced by a refreshed version of the luxury saloon. The face-lifted 7 Series will be locally assembled at the German car manufacturer’s Chennai plant and will be launched by the middle of 2013.
BMW To Launch 1 Series By End Of 2013
In a recently released statement, German auto maker BMW has confirmed that it will be launching the BMW 1 Series hatchback in India by the end of 2013. The company has also confirmed that the 1 Series which will be sold in India model will be locally manufactured at BMW’s Chennai plant.
BMW 3 Series set for 2012 launch in India
BMW has just launched it's all-new, 6th generation 3 Series, with four engine options. The all-new 3 Series will go on sale in Europe by the end of this year, and could be in India as soon as the first quarter of 2012.
New X3 launch in end-August
This is the new BMW X3, slated to go on sale by the end of this month. The new X3 utilises a monocoque construction. The new X3 is offered with a range of four engines, two diesel and two petrol, but in India, only a single petrol version is likely to be offered, alongside the two diesels.
The third DTM season round was entirely marked by BMW: with race winner Bruno Spengler, second-placed Marco Wittmann and Timo Glock in third position, the brand from Munich locked out the podium at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
