After a lot of search and research about hatchbacks, me and my wife finalised on Hyundai i20 petrol model. We calculated effectively the price difference between the car models of petrol and diesel, can concluded that we need a petrol car. But now seeing the constantly increasing petrol prices, a diesel car would have been a better choice.... :( Generally, it is assumed that, if you are driving more than 60-70 km per day, you should go for a diesel car. Hyundai i20 is a very good car being stylish, powerful and comfortwise. When we purchased this model, competetors were Swift, Polo, Beat, Jazz and Figo. Swift being toooo common, maintainance of WV card is probably more than the other brands. Shape is a bit odd for Beat. Jazz being costly in hatchback range, Ford Figo was a better deal having a fully loaded car in a base prise of other brands. But we liked the looks of i20 and maintainnace is not much.. Also mileage is good when used judiciously. One can still consider Maruti Swift and Tata cars being our Indian products and most important, pocket friendly vehicles.
