Dear Om, If your monthly running does not exceed 600 km, then it does not make sense for you to invest in a diesel car for the simple reason that you will not recover the higher purchase price, annual insurance or service costs, despite diesel being a cheaper fuel. Stick to a petrol car. In your budget, you have a wide choice of both entry-level sedans and hatchbacks. If you like, you can write to us again stating your preference and we will be happy to help you.
