Dear Bhagyaraj, Yes, running costs are a concern for all of us. Since you mention you bought your last car, an Indica, for Rs 1.6 lakh, we presume you bought it used. Now, since you plan to go in for a new car, you are weighing your options. Since your daily running is only 25 kilometres, I would still advise you to stick to petrol. Not only is the price difference between petrol and diesel quite large, you are likely to be able to negotiate better with the dealer for a petrol car. Depending on your budget, there are a huge number of options available. Do right to us if you need hep in choosing the right car for you.
